Japanese Language Education Program | For Others
Students and others who are currently not affiliated with the University of Tokyo are not eligible to take the Center’s courses. However, we also offer Japanese language courses to students participating in UTokyo international short-term programs that are mainly aimed at students enrolled in overseas universities.

UTokyo Global Unit Courses
The University of Tokyo’s Global Unit Courses (GUC) provide a great opportunity for students around the world to experience what it is like to study at one of the leading universities in East Asia. The GUC include a variety of in-person and online courses with cutting-edge content, taught by faculty members of the University of Tokyo. Japanese language courses are open only to the students who register for at least one of the main GUC courses.
UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program
The UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program is a summer internship program supported by the Amgen Foundation to provide undergraduate students from different countries who are committed to or who are considering a career in biology or related sciences. The Center for Japanese Language Education provides Japanese language course for participants who express interest.
UTRIP(University of Tokyo Research Internship Program)
UTRIP was launched by the Graduate School of Science (GSS) of the University of Tokyo. UTRIP is an intensive summer research program targeted at undergraduates who have a keen interest in pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. degree in the future. The Center for Japanese Language Education provides Japanese language course for those who express interest.
