プロフィール

Fei Chen is a historian of Sino-Japanese cultural exchange, global knowledge networks, and memory. He has held fellowships at the Harvard-Yenching Institute and Princeton University. He is the author of China Reborn, 1895–1912: Localism, Japanese Knowledge, and the Qing Empire’s Reconfiguration (Oxford University Press, 2026), Remembering Heroes in East Asia: Transnational Myths Between Nationalism and Imperialism (University of British Columbia Press, forthcoming), and the editor of The Politics of Script and Language: Transformations of Sinographs and Literary Sinitic in Twentieth-Century East Asia (Brill, 2026). His work has appeared in journals such as Past & PresentThe Historical JournalAsian Studies ReviewInternational Journal of Asian Studies, and Journal of Asian History, and has been recognized with the Wang Gungwu Prize awarded by the Asian Studies Association of Australia.
