What is Go Global Gateway?
Go Global Gateway (GGG) is a program designed for all undergraduate students at UTokyo to develop their “global competence” (the ability to live and work together with diverse people around the world).
GGG awards certificates to students who fulfill requirements and submit a certification request. The certificates will attest to your global competence and can be an asset during job search and other endeavors.

③ Courses offered in languages other than your first language and/or ④ Global Experiences 【One of them is mandatory】
① On-demand Online Course
The course, which consists of videos and quizzes, provides comprehensive information on various opportunities offered by UTokyo. We encourage you to take the course as early as possible after your admission to UTokyo.
*Students are also encouraged to participate in international exchange events, such as "GO GLOBAL UTokyo Study Abroad Fair" hosted by Center for Global Education (UTokyo GlobE). Although not a requirement for the certificate, these events are valuable opportunities to prepare for studying abroad and other activities during your college years.
② Foreign Language Courses
Earn all the credits for foreign language courses (Foundation and Integrated Courses) required by the Junior Division at UTokyo.
③ Courses offered in languages other than your first language
Complete at least one course taught in a language other than your first language. This includes courses offered by GlobE, such as Global Liberal Arts Courses (GLA), Language-Global Liberal Arts Courses (L-GLA), and Global Leadership Program Courses (GLC) , as well as UTokyo Global Unit Courses (GUC).
Note: Following courses are not applicable to the category of “Courses offered in languages other than your first language.”
・Courses classified as “② Foreign Language Courses” (i.e., Foundation and Integrated Courses: L)
・Course primarily intended for language acquisition
④ Global Experiences
Participate in at least one overseas program. The following programs are applicable to this category:
・Study abroad programs offered by GlobE (e.g., USTEP (University-wide Student Exchange Program), Short-Term Study Abroad Programs offered by GlobE)
・All study abroad programs offered by college or faculty at UTokyo
・Some overseas programs offered by the External Relations Promotion Group, UTokyo (e.g., Overseas Programs among Hands-on Activities, UTokyo Global Internship Program(UGIP))
・Regular courses at UTokyo which include overseas experience
・Some domestic programs offered by GlobE (e.g., Short-term inbound programs for students from overseas institutions in which UTokyo students can participate)
・Global Experiences not listed above that involve overseas travel, for which the student has applied for and received approval
◆ If you complete Global Leadership Program-I (GLP-I) and/or Global Leadership Program-II (Trilingual Program) (GLP-II (TLP)), which are part of the "Global Leadership Program" offered by GlobE, along with the ① On-demand Online Course, you will be awarded the GGG+ (Plus) certificate.

The Certification Process

① On-demand Online Course
The course, which consists of videos and quizzes, provides comprehensive information on various opportunities offered by UTokyo. We encourage you to take the course as early as possible after your admission to UTokyo.
*Students are also encouraged to participate in international exchange events, such as "GO GLOBAL UTokyo Study Abroad Fair" hosted by Center for Global Education (UTokyo GlobE). On-demand Online Course
As the first step in engaging in international activities at UTokyo, start with the On-demand Online Course. This course provides comprehensive information on various opportunities for international activities and programs offered by UTokyo. You can also hear stories from current UTokyo students and GlobE faculties about their global experiences.
Completion of the course is mandatory for applying to and participating in various activities at UTokyo, such as GO GLOBAL Study Abroad Fairs, University-wide Student Exchange Program (USTEP), and short-term study abroad programs, etc. We encourage you to take the course as early as possible.
Course Description
The course consists of the following four themes. For each theme, there are one or two videos and several quizzes (multiple-choice and essay-type questions) to assess your understanding.

Estimated time required: Approximately 100 minutes, including video viewing and quizzes.
