The UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2025 successfully concluded with the Final Presentation and Farewell event held on August 1 at Sanjo-kaikan, Hongo Campus. The event brought together host professors, mentors, lab members, administrative staff, and faculty to celebrate the completion of the scholars’ eight-week research internships.

During the Final Presentation, a representative scholar delivered an oral presentation highlighting her research progress. All scholars also showcased their summer research projects through poster sessions. At the Farewell, each scholar was awarded a certificates of completion with special recognition presented to the most outstanding poster presenter.

From August 5 to 7, scholars participated in the Amgen Scholars Asia Symposium hosted by Kyoto University. Held after the conclusion of each university’s program, the symposium fosters academic exchange and strengthens scholarly networks through research presentations by students and guest speakers from Kyoto University, the National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, and the University of Melbourne.

This year’s program featured research presentations, keynote talks, and interactive discussions. Representing UTokyo, Professor Moi Meng Ling from the Graduate School of Medicine delivered an invited lecture, and two UTokyo scholars presented their research outcomes. On the final day, participants took part in a Yuzen dyeing workshop, a traditional Kyoto art form, which provided a cultural highlight and a meaningful closing experience before the scholars’ return to their home countries.
