2025.06.13
On June 9, 2025, twelve undergraduate students from Princeton University began a six-week visit to the University of Tokyo’s Hongo Campus. During this period, a series of exchange sessions with twelve UTokyo undergraduate students will be held. The program commenced with a campus tour and a welcome party.

During the campus tour, UTokyo students guided Princeton students through some of the university’s most iconic landmarks, including the Akamon Gate, the General Library, Yasuda Auditorium, and Sanshiro Pond. Participants listened attentively to the guides as they strolled through the campus together.

The welcome party was hosted by Professor Yujin Yaguchi, Director of the Center for Global Education, and President Teruo Fujii gave welcoming remarks. Executive Vice President Kaori Hayashi (in charge of Diversity and Global Affairs) also joined the event, and students from the two universities enjoyed conversation with them in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The Princeton students showed great interest in the daily lives of Japanese university students, Japanese culture, and must-see places in Tokyo. UTokyo students were eager to learn about academic life and student experiences at American universities. These shared interests sparked lively conversations and created a warm, enjoyable exchange.

The program will include a dialogue with Executive Vice President Kaori Hayashi, a Koto (a traditional Japanese musical instrument) experience session, and a farewell party.
