UTokyo GlobE hosted a cultural event “Experience Japanese tea Ceremony”

On Wednesday, November 13, we held a Japanese tea ceremony at the Student Plaza, Center for Global Education.

The Edo-senke school instructor, Sousei Motoyama taught us the etiquette of tea ceremony, and we enjoyed tea and Japanese sweets sitting on the tatami mats. There were 21 participants from China, Taiwan, India, Denmark, Germany, the U.S., France, Peru, and Japan. After the experience, they actively asked questions about the tea ceremony to the instructor and talked in groups about the tea cultures of their home countries.
