Over 300 students participated in UTokyo GUC 2024!

UTokyo GUC (UTokyo Global Unit Courses) is a short-term program organized by the Center for Global Education at the University of Tokyo, designed for international students. Participants who pass the selection process can enroll in one or more courses lasting one to two weeks.UTokyo GUC 2024 marked the second year of welcoming students back to campus for in-person sessions. This year's program ran from June 17 (Mon) to July 26 (Fri) and offered 20 courses in total, including 15 specialized courses spanning the humanities to STEM fields, and 5 online Japanese language courses tailored to different proficiency levels. Students from 85 universities across more than 20 countries and regions around the world took part in the program.
In addition to lectures, the specialized courses featured lab tours, visits to other campuses, and fieldwork. The program also included social events like lunch gatherings as "Get Together" events, fostering interaction with UTokyo students. Many participants praised the program as a valuable opportunity to experience student life at UTokyo from both an academic and social perspective.
