"BON Dance & TANABATA Party" was held (Komaba Campus)

On Friday, July 5, "BON Dance & TANABATA Party" was held by Center for Global Education (Komaba Branch).

Throughout the event, we let international students and foreign researchers not only experience Japanese culture, but also interact with other UTokyo participants. About 60 participants from 24 countries/regions joined the event, which was moderated and facilitated by student staff.

At the Bon Dance part, participants danced in a circle to "Tankobushi" and "Tokyo Ondo". After student staff showed how to dance, everyone danced to the music repeatedly. Even those who had never danced Bon Dance before were able to dance while following the others.

At TANABATA Party that followed, a large bamboo branch decoration was set up in the center of the hall, and participants sang Tanabata song, hung their wishes on the branch, and deepened exchanges with each other.
