Princeton and UTokyo Student Interactive Sessions Concluded!

2025.07.24
The interactive sessions between students from Princeton University and the University of Tokyo came to a close with the Farewell Party held on July 17, 2025.

At this final gathering, led by Yujin Yaguchi, Director of the Center for Global Education, each participant reflected on their time in Japan and the interactive sessions by sharing a single English word that symbolized their experience. Words such as “Unforgettable,” “Memorable,” “Inspiring,” and even “Yummy” were shared— revealing the depth and variety of insights students carried with them from the program.

For the Princeton students, the six-week stay in Japan was full of meaningful encounters and discoveries. For UTokyo students, the opportunity to interact with peers from an overseas university provided valuable insights and learning.

While there was a sense of nervousness at the Welcome Party, the Farewell Party showed how far the participants had come—now completely at ease with one another, sharing conversations and laughter over meals in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Princeton students had clearly grown comfortable using Japanese and handling chopsticks, reflecting their genuine engagement with Japanese culture.

Through these interactive sessions, students overcame linguistic and cultural differences to form lasting bonds. We hope that the connections fostered between Princeton University and UTokyo will continue to flourish in the years to come.
