ISSR holds special Chinese Conversation Club event to welcome new international students for 2026A Semester

On Thursday, October 22, 2026, GlobE’s International Student Support Room (ISSR) held a special Chinese Conversation Club event, “Welcome Party for New Students,” at the Student Plaza on the Hongo Campus. A total of 31 international and domestic students participated in the event. Divided into seven groups, they enjoyed talking with each other in Chinese, Japanese, and English.

After introducing themselves, the students exchanged information on a variety of topics, including campus life and their experiences as students. A representative from each group then shared with everyone the main discussion topics and advice offered by more experienced students. The event concluded with a group photo in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The Chinese Conversation Club is organized by GlobE ISSR as an opportunity for UTokyo students to interact with each other in Chinese, Japanese, and other languages. The gathering is held twice a month during lunchtime at the Student Plaza.
