2026.07.13

The UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program has reached its midpoint, and participants took part in a Midterm Presentation Session and Excursion in Yamanashi Prefecture from July 3 to 4.

During the research presentation session, not only the participating undergraduate students but also UTokyo graduate students who accompanied the group to support the program over the two days presented their own research projects. A wide range of topics related to bioengineering and life sciences were showcased, prompting lively interdisciplinary discussions. These exchanges provided participants with valuable opportunities to gain new perspectives and deepen their understanding as they continue their research activities during the remainder of the program.

In addition to the presentations, participants visited famous local attractions, including Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, Oshino Hakkai, and Narusawa Ice Cave. They also enjoyed a variety of cultural experiences, such as a barbecue, handheld fireworks, and traditional indigo dyeing.

The two-day program served as a valuable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of research while strengthening connections with one another. The participants return to their research projects with renewed motivation and enthusiasm for the weeks ahead.
