ISSR holds Chinese Conversation Club to welcome new international students for 2026S Semester
New international students gathered at the Chinese Conversation Club hosted by ISSR (International Student Support Room) at Student Plaza, Center for Global Education (GlobE), Hongo Campus on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
A total of 47 international and domestic students participated in the event and interacted in Chinese, Japanese, and English. Students were first divided into six groups for self-introductions. New students then had the opportunity to ask questions to senior students and engage in lively conversations on a variety of topics. Following the group discussions, two representatives from each group shared their discussion topics with all participants. For the remainder of the event, participants enjoyed talking freely with students from other groups. The warm, friendly event concluded with a group photo shoot.
Chinese Conversation Club is organized by GlobE ISSR as an opportunity for UTokyo students to interact with each other in Chinese, Japanese, and other languages. The gathering is held twice a month during lunchtime at Student Plaza.
