ISSR holds Chinese Conversation Club to welcome new international students for 2025A Semester

On Thursday, October 23, 2025, the GlobE International Student Support Room (ISSR) held its Chinese Conversation Club to welcome new students for the A Semester at Student Plaza, Center for Global Education, Hongo Campus.A total of 40 students participated, communicating in Chinese, Japanese, and English. Divided into six groups, students introduced themselves and then chose group names based on shared interests and hobbies. Each group announced its name in both Chinese and Japanese. Next, with senior international students serving as hosts, participants enjoyed various activities including self-introductions, games, guitar performances, and singing, all met with laughter and applause. During the teatime that followed, everyone chatted and got to know each other better. The amicable event concluded with a group photo.
The Chinese Conversation Club is organized by GlobE ISSR as an opportunity for UTokyo students to interact in Chinese, Japanese, and other languages. The gatherings are held twice a month during lunchtime at Student Plaza.
