UTokyo GlobE Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony for the Center for Global Education (GlobE), launched in April 2023, was held on Wednesday, October 11. After the ceremony in Yasuda Auditorium, a reception party was held in Ito Hall, attended by approximately 160 guests, faculty, staff, and students.
The ceremony featured a keynote speech by Mr. Akihiko Tanaka, President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and a documentary film of UTokyo-Asian University for Women (AUW) Joint Summer Program.
At the reception party, students gave speeches about their study abroad experiences, followed by a performance by special guest Sarah Àlainn, who played the violin and sang to thunderous applause. The reception party was followed by a buffet party, which was a great success.
