The UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2024 has started!

On June 4th, the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2024 began. Thirteen outstanding undergraduate students, selected from approximately 300 applicants across universities in the Asian region, will participate in an approximately 8-week research internship. On the first day, we held a Welcome Lunch followed by Program Orientation.

The program aims to cultivate future scientists and innovators primarily in the fields of medicine and life sciences. It provides practical, specialized, and intensive research experience at 25 world-class institutions worldwide. Beyond research and international exposure, participants have the opportunity to network with like-minded peers and build lasting friendships. Upon completion, they can maintain a continuous network as program alumni.

During their time at the University of Tokyo, program participants will reside in the same accommodations, gain experience in cutting-edge research labs, and engage in various events such as research presentations and short trips. Following the program, they will participate in a joint symposium with program participants in four universities in Asia and Australia, where they can present their research, participate in panel discussions, and connect with fellow program participants. In 2024, the University of Tokyo will host this symposium.
