I am from the fabulous city of Liverpool in the UK, the home of The Beatles. I have worked in higher education in the UK, Germany, the Middle East, China and Japan. My research has always been very interdisciplinary, so as well as Shakespeare and early modern literary studies, I am also interested in film and linguistics. My current research is looking at how early modern French-speaking migrants learnt English. 

Studying English at university has enabled me to travel all over the world and to meet some amazing people. I’d encourage you to step outside of your comfort-zone and to really embrace the exciting opportunities offered by The Center for Global Education.
